EXTENSION TO AN EXISTING DWELLING

PROJECT : The project consisted of an extension to the existing dwelling in order to improve the view to the lake and increase the amount of sunlight in certain rooms. The extension was carried out essentially on the second floor by the creation of two very light and sunny rooms, one of which had a wiew over the lake.

On account of this desire to maximise the sun and the view, the space thus created justs forward from the original.

Wood was chosen for the cladding to differentiate between the parts of the house.

An extension was also carried out on the existing ground floor part of the house, using the original materials.

The building follows a curve, echoing, on one side, the path of the sun and, on the other, the curve of the view to the lake.

Parking places and garden were not modified.

The extension have been designed in order to respect the character of the environment, working within its contraints and highlighting its qualities.
